A barn-and-pavilion wedding venue east of the Shoals
The Owls' Landing sits on a quiet stretch of Co Rd 33 in Killen, twenty minutes east of Florence. The property is built around a fully renovated barn with HVAC, an open-air pavilion for ceremonies and receptions, and bride and groom cottages tucked on-site for getting-ready and overnight stays.
It's one of the few venues in the Shoals where the entire wedding day — from the first sip of coffee in the bridal cottage to the last sparkler at the pavilion — happens on the same property.
What to expect on a film day
A few notes from filming on the property:
- The bride and groom cottages give you real, separate getting-ready spaces — natural light in both, and a film treatment that runs parallel through the morning rather than cutting back and forth between hotel rooms.
- The pavilion is open-air but covered, so weather doesn't force a last-minute change of plan. Late-afternoon ceremonies catch warm light through the open sides.
- The barn carries the reception cleanly into the night with HVAC and ambient lighting already in place.
A wedding day under one roof
The Owls' Landing rewards couples who want the day to feel unhurried — no shuttle between getting-ready and ceremony, no rebuilding momentum after a travel break. It films best when the timeline is allowed to stretch.
